I have a Windows SBS 2003 that runs Exchange and Symantec Endpoint(v. 11).
For the last 4 weeks or so, it has shut down DNS, Active Directory, Exchange and network connectivity almost nightly but the box stays powered up and is responsive. Rebooting each morning brings everything back up again but there are GFValidator.Exe errors being logged almost immediately. A quick search showed me that file belongs to Symantec.
I've saved yesterday's error logs in the hopes that someone might be able to help me sort through them. I also noticed that our last successful virus definition update was about the time the server started freaking out on me so I'm wondering if the whole problem is Symantec.
I was thrown into the role of "Network Admin" after a buyout laid off about half our staff. I have little to no experience and basically just have been keeping this relic running for the past couple years but this is way out of my area of expertise.
Any help would be appreciated.
