Okay having a really bad time with this:
We think it started with a bad MS Security Essentials update on 4/1/13 - but that is just supposition.
1. We lost Internet Access on the client machines (Win 7 pro SP2)
2. The client machines could see and access the files in the Shared Folder on the Server (SBS 2008 std SP 1)
3. The "Leaf Certificate" (self issued) was expiring and we could not get it to renew for several days using the Renewal option or Fix My Computer in the SBC panel.
4. Terminal Services Gateway would not start automatically. Once we determined that and started it we were able to run the Fix My Computer to renew the Certificate.
5. Today we figured out that there was still the old expired Certificate and deleted it and made sure the new one showed up in the IIS control panel. That immediately allowed one of the Windows 7 Clients to access the OWA and gain Internet access.
6. The final part of the puzzle is the other Windows 7 Client that will not connect to the Internet. It does however connect to the Shared folder as well as the "User" Redirection folder. She can access her Quickbooks, the Company Shared Documents
folder (via a Mapped Z:/ Drive). Yet the Network Card states she is not connected to our domain. Incidentally, the settings for the IPv4 are exactly correct.
We have tried http://connect and reconfiguring the network card, even removing the card and allowing the system to restart to re-install it. We are getting no where.
Anybody have anything that might provide a solution or direction to go here?
