Hi Everyone,
We have 2 Dell T610 servers. One is Running SBS 2008 and the other is running Server 2008. The 2008 Server is a Application server and is Running GP 2010 and AIM. Aim runs in SQL Server 2008 as well and is a Manufacturing Application. Both Server are backing up to their own IOsafe external USB drives. The SBS 2008 Server is running all the standard SBS stuff.
The customer runs 24/7, If one of the servers dies we want a way to get them backup and running the fastest as possible. I know a cloud would be ideal but with the CNC machines that use AIM it's really not the best solution. Plus their area loses Internet a lot.
Would it be best to put everything into a VM and the just mount the VM to the other server if one goes down? I know I would have to reconfigure everything but if it's the best solution then I would do that.
Thanks,
Brian
