SBS 2008: Max capacity issues?

Hi!

My company is running a SBS 2008 servers with 76 computers and 2 printers connected.

We are facing several issues, see below:

1.
Computers which are added via http://connect get an error on computer configuration after the mandatory reboot. Then, they wont show up in the SBS Management Console. It happens randomly to both Win8 and Win7 machines with freshly installed OS'es and everything up to date.

2.
Users have problems logging on after changing passwords. It happens on both laptops and stationary computers. It happens randomly, sometimes the old password works to log in but other times the new password must be used. Sometimes none of the passwords work and the user is unable to logon. After a while, any of the passwords may work again - you never know! No problem with user rights as far as i can tell. The issue persists even if the password is reset via SBS Management Console.

I've read that Microsoft states "no more than 75" clients for SBS 2008. I've also heard some IT people recommending not to push it to the limit, but consider changing server before "you hit the roof".
Now my question is, are these problems likely to be caused by the fact that we are at the max limit and even pushing further?
I'm afraid these problems could be tricky to investigate, so  perhaps it's not worth the time if they are simply caused by server max capacity.

Any thoughts on this?

Kind regards,

Daniel
