Command prompt would not accept "msg"

Hello all.

Got a problem with my command prompt. Whenever trying to use the "msg" command (exact syntax i'm trying: >msg * [message]

It gives me an error message saying "msg is not a recognized command" (or something similar - can't exactly remember).

I do not know whether it does it to ALL commands but have tried the basic ones like>cd..  and >tree and >dir and got no problems.

I have tried to hunt down solutions on the web - one of them suggested fixing the environmental argument (under "My Computer", "Advanced", and then editing

the "Path" argument so that it will include the library where the cmd.exe is located) - but this did not help.

Can anyone ?

Thanks in advance !!!!

Regards !

P.S. - Using Win 7 home premium edition 64 bit
