SBS2003, Dell PowerEdge 1440, Cerc Sata 1.5/6ch controller in Raid 1
When I went to reboot this server it would not reboot. It goes through all of the POST and then gets to a message of "Bios not installed" and dies right there. No F1 to continue... no invalid boot or anything. It just stops in it's tracks with that last message. I can press caps lock and get response but does not want to go the next step and boot the OS
I tried taking one of the drives and hook it up to the onboard SATA outside of the array and get "Bios installed successfully!" but then it still stops right there. I'm not sure if I have a hardware failure or something is wrong with the boot sector. The computer/controller see and report as healthy the 2 Raid 1 640gb WD drives so it's not like a raid/controller failure. I'm a bit stumped.
Any thoughts?
