Test Network inside of SBS 2011

I am trying to set up a test network, we are currently running SBS 2011. I have set up another server running Server 2012, added hyper V. I want to set up a virtual network with Server 2012 Essentials with a workstation or two.  I have a extra router and the test server has two nics.  Are there any white papers on how to set this up.  I think the Server 2012 needs to have a static ip, as does the router.  Our SBS 2011 has an ip of 192.168.16.xxx  DHCP is enabled. Where do I go from here.
