SBS2011 Win2008R2. About a month ago I noticed Companyweb could not be accessed by my users. No one uses it so I was not worried too much about it. When I started troubleshooting I noticed that WUS and Sharepoint was not working either. RWW and OWA is working so I think IIS is not the problem. I have a question mark on both the Sharepoint and Companyweb icons in IIS. I ran the Best Practices Analyzer and found several problems that may be causing the problem.
- There is no binding for SSL on the Default Web Site
- Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration (IE ESC) is currently not enabled for the Administrators group.
- The Internet Information Services (IIS) virtual directory for EWS has a maxRequestLength value that does not match the get-transportconfig MaxSendSize value.
- The certificate for the Remote Desktop Gateway service seems to be bound incorrectly.
- The DNS parameter MaxCacheTTL is not set.
- One or more SharePoint-related websites may not be accessible. A search query or application pool may fail, or you may receive the error "Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503".
- One or more SharePoint-related websites may not be accessible.
- run psconfig.exe against the databases
I am trying to work my way through the list but I am not familiar with IIS or Sharepoint (sql) so I am having a lot of difficulty. I am concerned that I will break something else on the server. I have successful backups of the server and I am not concerned about losing SharePoint Data. Would it be easier and safe to just restore the Sharepoint and Companyweb from a backup?
