I have been tasked by a Client to take his SBS2008 complete with Exchange, and rebuild it into a Windows SBS2011 box.
This is of course complete with Exchange
Since there is not a way to run Migration processes from the legacy machine to the new machine to do the migration/upgrade in this specific scenario, I wanted to discuss any other options to accomplish this task.
I wondered if it were possible to run a System State Backup for AD, as well as an Information Store backup in Exchange on the legacy 2008 SBS box. If I were to perform these tasks, would it be possible for me thereafter restore both the System State data for the AD and the INformation Store backup for Exchange to the new SBS2011 box?
If not I would appreciate any input on the topic.
