I have SBS 2011 installed on an IBM X3630 M3 with the following specs:
2 x Intel Xeon X5650
32 Gb RAM
ServeRAID M5015 RAID controller
7 x 300 Gb IBM SAS Drives
The OS is installed on a RAID 1 drive and all data and Exchange Database is stored on a RAID 10 drive, with all drives handled by the RAID controller.
This morning I had a notification that the server needed a reboot because of recently installed updates, so I performed the requested reboot. Since restarting, I have been unable to access the data drive (the RAID10 drive) although in MSM it is showing as optimal and the same is reported in the RAID controller's BIOS at startup. Exchange, obviously, is not working and when I attempt to open Disk Management or Event Viewer or browse the data drive, the server becomes unresponsive and won't respond to shutdown requests and eventually I have to force shutdown with the power button as the system becomes totally unresponsive.
I have installed updated drivers for the RAID controller but it has had no effect whatsoever. The OS is installed on a RAID drive, so I don't believe it's likely to be hardware-related.
Thanks to anyone who has any suggestions on this issue.
