Hi All,
I have gone through the process of setting up my SBS 2011 by using all of the wizards, everything is working internally. Our internal domain's FQDN is server.local which I think means
These are the steps that I have done to configure the autodiscovery service for my domain that is hosted externally.
Created these dns records:
owa | A | server-ip |
remote | A | server-ip |
rrw | A | server-ip |
exchange | A | server-ip |
autodiscover | A | server-ip |
And this SRV record:
_autodiscover._tcp<input name="rr_id" type="hidden" value="74750003" /> | SRV | 30 | 3600 | 0 443 remote.domainname.co.uk |
Remote access through remote.domainame.co.uk works perfectly, I can browse files, access OWA etc but I have no joy when trying to configure a client in outlook externally.
I think it may be something simple as when trying to connect through outlook, it picks up the autodiscovery url but when searching for settings a login dialog box is displayed with the address in the titlebar "server.domain.local".
I have also tried testing the autodiscovery through right clicking the outlook icon, after filling in the email address/password and clicking test I am presented with another login box which is titled "server.domain.local", I can only get past this section by removing the @domain.co.uk from the email address.
I am new to managing an exchange setup so any help or a steer in the right direction would be really appreciated, I have been searching online but haven't found anyone with a similar problem/solution.
Kind Regards
