What to do with an old SBS 2008 Server

Hi

I am looking to be moving a client to SBS 2011 from SBS 2008. This will be a new server with some significant specs I hope (asked for advice in another post)

This means they will have a spare server Xeon Processor, 8GB ram, some 7200 HDD's etc (unfortunately the RAM can not be upgraded to anything higher)

I appreciate that nothing can be done with the SBS 2008 as the SBS2011 will be taking the lead on the network.

However I have seen some inference in previous posts about having a second server on an SBS Network to offload applications.

Now from years ago I had it into my head (i think from SBS 2003) that you were only allowed 1 server on an SBS network, has this changed? I know with SBS 2008/2011 there are Premium packs that allow for a second server to be installed, but in SBS 2008 I read that was primarily for an SQL server?

All I am thinking is, and after suggestions, is to set up the old server with either a standard install of server 2008 or buy the premium pack for SBS (whats the difference?) just to install the Sage Data on and maybe offload rarely used files from the main server.

The client complains of Sage Line 50 2010 running slow, from my understanding, even though Sage is supposed to be installed on the server, it doesn't actually serve anything, it is just the data that is shared by the servers file serving services, and the client PC with a sage install uses this data (i could be wrong, quite easily). I was just thinking that as that data is a permanent conenction and has a lot of data in it moving it to a separate machine from where the redirected folder data for everyone comes from, might speed things up (especially as Sage is only used by 2 out of the 25 users)

How does this work with CAL? for either an additional Server 2008R2 Standard (or server 2012) or the Premium SBS 2011 pack?

Thanks

Tris
