I run a network of 20 PC's, all running Windows 7, and a server running SBS 2011 Standard. Most of the time the network runs fine, each PC takes around 20-30 secs to reach the CAD screen after Windows has booted. However, intermittently 1, or 2 PC's will
only get as far as "Please Wait". When this happens it can be 2 hours or more before the PC finally shows the CAD screen. Once logged in everything runs as normal. Sometimes, forcing a reboot on the offending PC will result in a normal time before reaching
the CAD screen. Other times no matter how often a reboot is enforced, I have to give in and just let the PC take what ever time it wants to get there. It's intermittent and isn't always on the same PC's. When it happens, booting into Safe mode with Networking
always gives an instant CAD screen, which makes me think it might be a driver problem, but if so why is it so random and intermittent. It's really annoying as once it happens, the user has to log in to a spare PC until their own reaches the CAD screen.
Any ideas on how to pin down where the problem is would be really appreciated.
