Let me start off saying that I am
sorry with how long this post is, but I wanted to put in all the detail I can. That said, wondering if anyone can help me with this issue. We purchased some new Win 7 64bit laptops and introduced them into our SBS Server 2003 environment that had been running
win xp laptops. The new laptops are HP ProBook 4535s' running win 7 64 bit. Every time I log into one of these new windows 7 laptops and log onto the network I get the message saying "You have been logged on with a temporary profile. You cannot access your
files and files created in this profile will be deleted when you log off...."
Upon looking at the event viewer in the application side, I have 3 events of interest (listed in order of when they occurred, but all are within 20 sec. of logon):
1) Warning - User profile service - ID 1530
Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.
DETAIL -
1 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-1638837867-712713273-100522359-2604:
Process 672 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-1638837867-712713273-100522359-2604
2) Error - User Profile Service - ID 1521
Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.
DETAIL - Access is denied.
3) Error - User Profile Service - ID 1511
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.
Also, don't know if this is tied to it or not, I will sometimes get a box appearing stating: "SBS Client Setup OS Stub has stopped working." The problem signature is as follows:

After I close that window, another pops up stating "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Click OK to close the application".
I have tried restarting and I have re installed the OS, as well. I know that Vista and win 7 uses profiles with the .v2 extension. We have one vista laptop that runs fine with a users profile. Is there something that I should be doing to link these up properly? Any help would be appreciated. Hoping that I just need to change some setting, but I have no clue.
Thanks
