Behaviour of Guest account profile when using Windows 7 to connect to a SBS 2003 domain

I've just had a complain from somebody saying that the Guest account is taking longer and longer to log in to the domain.

We have a number of XP machines and a couple of Windows 7 machines in reception (to give the impression that we're a forward thinging company - you know the sort).  Anyway, everything is controlled by a SBS 2003 so the integration of the Windows 7 machines is a bit of a botch as far as group policy is concerned.

The point is that in my diagnosis I have noticed that the Guest account is only given a temporary profile each time somebody logs in using it (it's used for job interviewees if they need Internet access for any reason).  As such, the profile is removed from the registry and the Guest folder is removed from C;\Users as soon as they log off.  This was brought to a head when I tried to add a printer to the Guest account and couldn't see any printers listed in AD.

Is this normal behaviour, or does this all sound a bit odd to you?  Does it work this way with XP too?

Thanks for any input and feedback.

Angus
