Hello,
I am setting up a Windows SBS 2011 and am trying to use the Remote Web Access functionality. I seem to have it all setup on the Router & Server side, but it simply doesn't work on computers not on the LAN. Here's what I know:
1) On the SBS it says that Remote Web Access is "Available." I am able to use Remote Desktop from a computer on the LAN and it works great. I am also able to access the site via my address: https://**************.remotewebaccess.com
2) I believe I have everything setup properly on the router side since the Server says that the Remote Web Access is "Available." But here are the settings that it took me to do to get the router to work. It's an RV180W Cisco router.
http - port 80 - server as destination ip (192.168.12.226)
https - port 443 - server as destination ip (192.168.12.226)
rdp (custom service) - port 4125 - server as destination ip (192.168.12.226)
I turned on UPnP.
I also put the Server on a static Local IP 192.168.12.226.
So where am I going wrong? I try to log on from home using the https://**************.remotewebaccess.com on my Internet Explorer, but it simply comes up saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I put the address in the Trusted Sites and lowered the security to low in my IE. On my LAN I can use Firefox, or IE and it loads up just fine. When I'm not on the LAN I can't get any browser to work. I've tried different computers on different networks, and no luck.
The server is setup as a Domain. Is that a problem? I emailed my ISP. I am guessing that Centurylink wouldn't prohibit any ports, or is that a possibility? Thank you in advance for your help and recommendations!!!
