Im trying to join our sbs 2008 server to our existing server 2003 domain and this does not seem to be working for me. I have dcpromoed a few times in the past without problem.
firstly I was getting dns srv errors srv record not found , the dns server cannot be contacted or other dns related errors
I made sure the dns on the master server was set to AD Integrated, I added the sbs member server to the allowed server list on the masters dns console & even transferred over the masters dns records just to be sure. Nic propertiers of sbs pointed tothe master dns server on the 2k3 DC etc.
After this SBS fought back with more error messages such as
"A delegation for the dns zone cannot be created because the dns server cannot
be found or it does not run windows dns server.........."
another time I would get randomly get past this stage and then eventually receive
"AD failed to install because the replication object failed to allocate memory" The sbs has 10 gigs of ram & not other demading roles. Thanks for reading
