Hi everyone,
I know that other people have posted about this, but unlike others this problem has not magically fixed itself. The SBS 2008 server I am referring too has never had issues sending monitoring reports till 4 days ago. Here is some background information:
The only changes to the system have been updates applied at the beginning of the month. the reports are generated but not emailed. I can manually generate and email a report with no problems. I have tried the following with no success:
1. changed the time the report is sent
2. tried sending the report to different addresses including internal as well as external
3. Checked services, all necessary services are running and functional
4. re-started the server
5. Ran BPS, no critical problems
6. About 2 months ago the sbs monitoring database had exceeded it's limits, per instructions from these forums replaced the the sbsmonitoring.mdf and sbsmonitoring_log.ldf files with clean new ones, but that was more than 2 months ago.
7. Ran "fix my network" I know this is not related but I wanted to make sure there were no errors and there were none.
I checked the C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\MonitoringServiceLogs the only log listed referring to delivery of monitoring report was 4 days ago when the last successful report was sent. There are no logs for monitoring service report deliveries on the days the report was not sent, so I cant even check that for errors.
The event logs show nothing around the time the reports where supposed to be mailed. The only unusual things I can report is that when I went to go look at the log files in the MonitoringServiceLogs folder, two log files that are unusually large. "ConfigurationHelper_Policy.log" that is nearly 1GB in size and "DataServiceComponents.log" that is just over 1GB in size.
Finally, after successfully manually generating and emailing a report, the event viewer did show the following warning:
"The configuration information of the
performance library "C:\Windows\system32\sqlctr90.dll" for the
"MSSQL$SBSMONITORING" service does not match the trusted performance library
information stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be
treated as trusted."
However, this is the first time I have seen this event 2003 Perfib.
Sorry for such a lengthy post, but I wanted to provide all relevant information. Everything else on this server appears to be normal. Any input, suggestions or ideas to get these reports working again would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Julie
