We've had something happen on our SBS 2011 server over the evening. This morning we had complaints that nobody could connect to network shares and outlook was not connecting.
When trying to access network shares they were getting the following: Logon failure: the target account name is incorrect.
I log into the server and open DNS to check and it says "the server XXX could not be contacted. Access denied. Would you like to add it anyway?
The dns server service is started as is netlogon, RPC endpoint, etc. I can open ADUC on this server as well.
My initial thoughts are pointing to a secure channel issue/failure of some sort, but I'm checking in first. Any suggestions?
Oh, dcdiag fails on the connectivity tests and then fails because Active Directory is not responding to requests. All the other tests passed.
