Exchange Active Sync, Remote and OWA do not work SBS2008 Exchange 2007

The Active Sync and OWA were working fine.  I had an issue with updates which I could not resolve.  I called Microsoft and had an engineer help me.  I know she had an additional person or people helping her but I felt confident that she and they knew what they were doing.

They had turned things off to try and resolve this issue.  We lost connectivity with each other and I'm not sure what she turned off or on.  I do know while the person was on my phone my active sync stopped.  Of course I called Microsoft in a panic.  When I got Internet access and phone service back.  It was late and I got the after hour service.  He worked with me for a few hours but could not resolve the issue.  The OWA does work on the server using local host.

When I try it from a workstation using remote.xxx.com it does not work.  I tried the Exchange Connection tool from inside the network and I get the following errors.

Validating the certificate name.
 Certificate name validation failed.

I really think it is something simple that has been left unchecked or checked.

Please help.
