Hello! I've asked this already but I've not received an answer. I hope someone can help a bit.
We have a technician in our company and he has written in his "Monthly Tabs" that he checks/controls SBS and TS server every second day for roughly two hours. I don't know much about this except that it should be 2003 version or something?
Should he be doing this so often or is he just taking the money for nothing?

Here's a list of what he says he does: (I tried to translate the best I could)
SBS
0. request to DAVID server
1. Temperatures and power of the server, state of HW, logs - via RSA adapter
2. logs Windows2003 server (system, app, security)
3. disks - check free space, monthly defrag
4. check UPS, Event log UPS
5. check backups, check full image used for entering, monthly copy of full image to ext.drive
6. check mail client - mail queue, free space (limited)
7. check antivirus system - file server, components for mail checks (Exchange), AVG admin for desktop
8. ISA server - check running applications, rules and filters, if there was any change
9. SQL server and POHODA - services, databases - free some space via deleting old stuff
10. monthly Ms Baseline Security Analyzer run - check security
11. check updates, security updates install (every month once)
12. files USERS and COMPANY, PHOTO (deleting, moving..)
etc.
TS
1. check HW via accessing HP System Management (HW, temperatures, rps, power etc.)
2. logs Windows 2008 server R2 (system, app, security)
3. internal drives - free space, monthly defrag
4. external drives - check connection, accessibility and file system
5. check overnight backups to ext. drive
6. check updates, install security updates (once a month)
7. check connected users (logged out, logged off) to server via Terminal Services Manager
8. check phone central via checking sw
9. check UPS, Event log UPS
10. check program INISOFT - RES plus
