Hi everyone,
I've recently picked up a contract for a client that uses SBS 2008 that has a few issues. Please forgive me for sounding like a noob, SBS is fairly new to me as my background is Server 2003/2008.
Server specs- SBS 2008 SP2, 8GB RAM, 1TB of HDD space (gobs of free space on C: and E:), Running for a couple of years on this setup, Exchange server 2007 (v 08.03.0327.001) using POP3 connector to retrieve e-mail from hosted provider, Sharepoint was orginally setup but not really used, WSUS is installed and was being used until it was replaced by a third-party app for patching.
I'm trying to get this server running correctly but am hitting a few snags, first and foremost is that the server will intermittenly stop pulling the POP3 email from our hosted provider. Unfortunately, I can't check the settings within the SBS console since I get the "this feature is not setup properly" when viewing the Users/Groups page and when looking at the POP3 connector setting. Also, the SBS console crashes quite often.
I've tried to repair the console but that didn't clear up the issue. Upon running SBS BPA it was found that- IE Enhanced Security Configuration is not enabled, Local Activation permission to the IIS WAMREG Admin Service required, The server is in a Journal Wrap condition, Two or more network adapter cards detected, and multiple "User account does not show in the Windows SBS Console".
The former admin told me that these problems didn't used to exist but wasn't sure what the problem was so he just let it go but this is a major inconvience and I don't have the resources to rebuild the server from scratch nor any idea of when it started to be able to restore it from a good backup.
Any help is greatly appreciated and I can post a snip of the console.log file shortly.
Thanks!
