We have a couple of Windows 7 clients that are joined to a SBS 2011 AD domain.
When the users are outside the domain, they get are getting a message on the bottom right of the screen saying that their roaming profile could not be located and event 1521 source Userenv shows up in the event log. Some of the older Windows XP clients have the same problem btw.
When I log on to my computer outside the domain, which is also joined to a SBS 2011 AD domain, I'm not getting this message, which I believe is normal, because my computer knows it's not connected to the domain.
What could cause this message being displayed?
This is the complete error message:
Event ID 1521, Source: Userenv
"Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator. "
DETAIL - The network name cannot be found.
