Problems joining clients to an SBS 2011 Standard DC

I recently installed an SBS 2011 Standard server.

I had about 14 client workstations to join to the domain. All, but 4 machines (2 x Vista Business and 2 x Windows 7 Professional), were successful in joining to the server.

The machines that were not successful all had the same problems in that after the connect wizard (http://connect) ran, the machines rebooted to the desktop but there were a number of icons missing from the Start menu, IE was nowhere to be seen and when clicking on any program the following error message appeared:

“Windows cannot access the specified driver, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them”. Though mapped network drives were connected on these machines.

All, but one of the users were set up as 'Standard Users', the other user was set up as a 'Local Administrator'. I cannot remember doing anything differently on these 4 machines that I didn't do on the other 10 machines.

Has anyone else come across this problem before? And, if so, did you resolve the problem?

Many thanks.
