Hi.
I have an SBS 2011 Standard server that's periodically displaying the following error in the system log:
Log Name: System
Source: Disk
Event ID: 11
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR3.
The error doesn't appear that often-- maybe once a week or every other week-- though when it does it usually posts three or four times over a several hour period.
According to Disk Management, Hard Disk 3 is the 2 TB USB drive (a Seagate GoFlex, if it matters) that I'm using to backup the server via the built-in SBS backup app. I don't know what the reference to DR3 means.
Thing is, the twice daily backups are completing normally according to my daily status reports and the backup log itself. Moreover, I've done a number of file and folder restores over the past few months and they've all went off without a hitch.
So one one hand, I have no indication of any problems with my backups, but on the other, this periodic message is troubling and I'm not sure how to go about diagnosing what, if any problem exists.
Has anyone encountered this type of error or know whether it's a cause for concern?
Many thanks.
