Hi,
We are trying a test migration of our domain before doing the real thing. The current domain is called "ABCD" and has a single DC running Server 2003 called "dc2003.abcd." It has all updates installed and we will be installing SBS 2011 Standard on new hardware we have purchased.
Running the SBS 2011 Standard Migration Prep Tool stops at the scan screen and reports:
"Found an offline domain controller present in Active Directory. Server: dc2003.abcd"
That is the single domain controller and it's obviously up and running fine. I've read other threads and tried various things to fix this but can't get the error to go away.
There were old DCs in the past but they were removed from AD several years ago and I can find no references to them remaining anywhere. I've checked DNS and run dcdiag and both seem fine. I can post output from the diagnostic tools, if that's helpful.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm particularly interested in what tests the tool is using to determine if the DC is up, since all the test I'm running show that it is.
Thanks in advance
