I have a user with perfomance issues on their laptop. So far, it appears to be related to their profile, while other profiles don't exhibit the behavior (but the other profiles don't have exchange or offline files enabled either). The user has Outlook 2010 to connect to our SBS 2011 server with a 6 gb storage limit ( offline OST enabled). They also sync (offline files) up to 25 GB of data including Quicken files. The machine kind of seizes up (hourglass style) with great frequency for minutes and then operated semi-normally for a little while and the repeats. and I noted from Perfmon.exe reports there is often a message similar to this "The average disk queue length is 14. The disk may be at its maximum transfer capacity due to throughput and disk seeks".
I don't see this behaviour in other profiles on the same machine. I have reset the sync files incase it was a corrupt cache, but the problem persists. I had read a thread that stated that if the Quicken data file is set up to sync offline that it basically reloads (syncs across the network) "all the data" everytime a change is made. Does anyone here know of issues using Quicken and using OFFLINE files for the Data file?
Also, could a 6 GB Exhange data file size cause such performance degradation?
The machine OS is Windows 7 64 bit, and has 6GB physical memory and a drive that currently has over 100 GB of free space. I ran diagnostics on the hardware and that came up with no errors.
Thanks for any ideas and suggestions on possible troubleshooting.

Based on the perfmon reports, I suspect that the hard drive is somehow getting overloaded and hoping someone might have worked on a similar problem in the group here.
