Folder Redirection issue - SBS2011 - Windows 7 Clients

SBS2011 with mix of Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro clients

I recently stood up a brand new SBS2011 server.  I had several clients who were part of another domain and I removed them from that domain and put them into a local workgroup.  I then successfully joined the same Win 7 and XP Pro computers to the new domain via "connect".  All looks good.  Once the computer is joined I sign in to the workstation using the user account.  I am now ready to copy all of their "mydocuments" data into their mydocuments but I notice that it's not redirected to the server (and yes I have checked off documents and desktop in redirects).  I then look in the logs on this one Win 7 client and sure enough I see "unable to apply... access denied" so the workstation is try to follow the gp.

Now what's more strange is that for the few XP Pro clients they work perfectly fine with the redirection.  It's all of my Windows 7 pro clients are failing.  ALL of them.  On this same Windows 7 client I even tried to navigate to\\servername\redirectedfolders\ and when I hit the last "\" I see nothing in hints for the next level folder (of users).

There is nothing special about this and I used all the wizards.  I have done this numerous times with multiple servers.  One note and I don't know if it's an issue.  The clients are joining a wholely new domain (name and all) but the server name is exactly the same as the previous domain.  Is Windows 7 caching anything?

Why are my Win 7 Pro clients ALL having fits with this?

Thanks!
