I followed some guides for a transition from SBS2003 to 2008R2 foundation. I ran into problems with the ntfrs after dcpromo on the new machine so I am not getting het netlogon and sysvol share on the 2008R2. Already posted as much information as I could gather in this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverMigration/thread/a44c1ead-3b1f-424e-af37-bd234c1c0d87/
2 people have suggested that I move it to the SBS threads. Currently I am at the stage that he Active Directory Domain Services Best Practices Analyzer logs give me:
<Error> <Report>true</Report> <DataItem>the name of the forest</DataItem> <Computer>the domain controller SERVER01</Computer> <Message>Could not find a forest identified by: 'domain.local'.</Message><FullyQualifiedErrorId>Could not find a forest identified by: 'domain.local'.,Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.Commands.GetADForest</FullyQualifiedErrorId> <Exception> <Type>Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.ADIdentityNotFoundException</Type><Message>Could not find a forest identified by: 'domain.local'.</Message> </Exception> </Error>
When I do start -> run \\domain.local I get the contents of the SBS machine. Any idea's?
