My prospect has a poorly performing SBS 2003 which runs Exchange and an SQL workload. I would normally propose to move him to SBS 2011 Premium but he tells me that the SQL workload (a third party product) will be migrating to the cloud within 12
- 18 months so he doesn't want to invest in a dedicated SQL server. We can run SBS 2011 Premium on a single virtualised hardware platform, but I understand we can't we use the Premium add-on copy of Server 2008R2 to provide the virtualization environment. So we'll either need another copy of Server 2008 R2 or Hyper-V Server 2008 R2. Any experience out there on which option to choose?
