I had to install a new disk in my sbs 2008 server, which called for a re-installation from the dvd of SBS 2008. I initially tried to restore a backup, but this didn't seem to work.
The fresh installation worked fine except that the DHCP server always stops. which means I cannot connect to the internet and I cannot connect other computers to the server, so a fairly useless server meantime.
when I manually try to start it, it tells me "windows could not start the dhcp server on myserver" it also gives an error code of 20013.
In the early entries in the event log it said 'svchost unable to read the header of the \dhcp\j50.log Error 546' and the source was given as ESENT.
Hardware checks out ok. Has anyone any thoughts on what's gone wrong?
