I've been using Sonicwall (primarily TZ series) since SBS standard 2003, although I have never used their managed services. We use Symantec Endpoint and Mail Security for Exchange inside. As attacks seem to be getting worse lately, we have been thinking of going to managed services on the firewall.
Although Sonicwall does provide for managed services, I know that many in the forum have been enamored with Calyptix products.
Do you still like Calyptix? Is there much of a performance hit when managed services are employed? Is it worth bumping a model beyond their recommendations to compensate for overhead of managed services? Can you block IP ranges by country? I would love to shut down China, Russia, etc.
Our first implementation would be a 40 user SBS 2011 with very high Internet use.
Any feedback appreciated, particularly caveats related to Calyptix.
Thanks
