I have just ordered a DELL T620 server for a new SBS2011 setup. The total capactiy on the server will be 1.6TB with a 600GB and a 1TB HDD (these will be mirrored) typically with 1TB total of data used.
I will be backing up to a cycle of 5x 2TB Western Digital USB drives. Based upon how long their current SBS2008 backup takes we would like to ensure a quick throughput to the USB drive.
I was looking to use USB3, however the T620 doesn;t come with USB3... so this would mean buying an extra card to plug in.
SO I am left with the following questions;
1. Does Server 2008R2/SBS2011 support USB 3?
2. Has anyone used a USB 3 card to provide themselves with USB3 on an SBS2011 set up?
3. Any recommendations? or advice?
