I now have about 10 updates (all of them related to .Net and most to .Net4) that keep trying to install over and over again. When I check the installed update list through "Add and Remove Programs" all of them show installed. Yet the server wants to install them again and again. I did a repair on .Net4 and that did not solve the problem. Updates are being delivered to the server via WSUS 3.X. I've tried the Microsoft update fix tool, but it will not execute for SBS 2003 saying it doesn't support that version. It seems a lot of people have this problem, but the fixes I find are not for servers. I've tried all of the various fixes suggested, including turning off virus protection (Symantec SEP) and installing the various updates manually. When trying a manual install I get the following error code in the log file:
MSI (s) (00:04) [22:03:00:652]: Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 - Update 'KB2789643' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Additional information is available in the log file C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1.SUG\LOCALS~1\Temp\Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0-KB2789643_20130304_060250136-Msi0.txt.
This refers back to itself and is the same log file.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be most appreciated. Steve
