Thank you in advance.
We have 3 domains on the Exchange 2003 SBS server.
One law office split to become two but still share the server.
Domains Exchange is responsible for:
OrginalDomain.com
Law1.com
Law2.com
The owners decided to not renew OriginalDomain.com and it expired.
Someone in Japan bought OriginalDomain.com and created a PTR record for it with their IP address.
Emails are now sent from Law1.com and Law2.com domains but when a reverse look up is done on those emails the reverse lookup is done on OrgiginalDomain.com. This resolves to an IP address in Japan so the reverse lookup fails and the emails are rejected.
I assume the fix for this is to change the default originating domain Exchange uses when sending emails.
Is that the correct solution?
If yes, How do I do it?
If no, What do I do?
Thanx,
Mel
