This weekend I am going to be working at a client site, where I am tasked with a rebuild/move/migration.
The client has a legacy system of Windows SBS 2008. We are taking Him to SBS2011 Standard.
I have read thru the Migration guides at this point.
My scenario is unique in that I have to do this twice, as we have to rebuild on the same server hardware.
I have had to find an interrim workstation with the minimum system requirements of SBS 2011 standard , and install SBS on that. this will be the destination server in the 1st Migration. thereafter we take the legacy hardware, and run a 2nd Migration, from the Interrim server, back to the legacy hardware.
I was asked yesterday by some of the users whom want/need to work on the Saturday while the process is occuring.
Am I able to have Users on the domain while the Migration process is occuring, or do I need to have everyone of off the system while it is Migrating?
Thanks for any input!
