I'm running SBS 2011 Standard and fully updated. We do have a 3rd party SSL cert from
GoDaddy that is used to secure the server using the standard remote.mydomain.com
setup with the SBS Cert Wizard. About two weeks back, I did renew the cert with GoDaddy and used the SBS Cert Wizard to renew the cert. The cert is working fine with ISS, ActiveSync and RWW. However, I'm now seeing an event logged to the application
log of the SBS box.
The STARTTLS certificate will expire soon: subject:
remote.mydomain.com, thumbprint: F0C30BB28B08A21B219F09997707C540F256BFDA,
hours remaining: 409. Run the New-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet to create a new
certificate.
I have opened the Exchange 2010 console and I can see the cert that is about to expire that has SMTP services bound to it. The thumbprint does match as well with the error in
the app log. However, I
can also see my new GoDaddy cert, which does have the same name and it also has SMTP along with IIS assigned to it.
My question is how do I resolve? Should the SBS Cert Wizard remove the old cert that is about to expire or at least remove the services that are bound to it? Or is this
something that I must manually
perform by deleting the old cert in the Exchange 2010 console?
Thanks for any suggestions.
