We are using SBS 2008 Standard Edition and we have one Mac client version 10.8.2 that I cannot connect to the server. When I connect drives using the smb://servername or ipaddress/sharename i receive an error. I can browse to the server and get prompted for the username and password under shares on the Mac but just having trouble opening up shares. I have been searching the internet for hours and it seems that there is no straight answer. I understand the Microsoft does not support SFM anymore. With this service not being supported by microsoft will I still be able to connect to the server shares using SMB? I dont want to use any third party products. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Len
