I am migrating from SBS2003 w/Exchange 2003 to Server 2008R2 with Exchange 2010 SP2 using Demazters guide: http://demazter.wordpress.com/2010/04/29/migrate-small-business-server-2003-to-exchange-2010-and-windows-2008-r2/ so ultimately there will only be one DC left in the end but during the weekend install there will be the old and the new DCs existing.
During the readiness checks of the Exchange 2010 install setup I get this warning:
The *** stars are not the actual content in the warning they just replace possible confidential domain names and controllers below.

SMTP instance 'CN=1,CN=SMTP,CN=Protocols,CN=***DC1,CN=Servers,CN=First Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=***,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=******,DC=com' is configured to route all messages via smart host 'smtp.*****.net'.
Remove this option if this SMTP instance is set as the source or target transport server of a routing group connector between an Exchange Server 2010 routing group and an Exchange Server 2003 Server routing group.
I searched for this and I am getting mixed recommendations some say leave it others say delete it from the virtual server and add it later in a exchange 2010 connector. I have inherited this setup from a previous admin so I believe this is there to send email to the ISP. I get the feeling that I will probably have to setup the connection between the new Exchange 2010 and the ISP to send and receive email. I thought that the migration would take care of that but now I see this warning.
Has anyone been through this one before and can offer some info?
