I've searched for a long time for an answer to what I think is a simple question, and so far come up empty.
All I want to know is, can I legally buy SBS 2011 Standard OEM CALs and add them to a pre-existing SBS 2003 Standard installation.
The SBS 2011 Licensing FAQ (here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/5/C/45CD1DC6-9204-44DD-999B-24B50A9144B6/SBS%202011_Licensing_FAQ.pdf ) implicitly says "yes" in its answer to the last question on page 19.
That was good enough for me until a salesman said that wasn't the case, and so now I'm doubting myself as it doesn't explicitly say that.
Can anybody confirm that I can or can't do this?
I've seen links to here: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/worldwide.aspx to contact a Microsoft licensing specialist, but I don't want to pay them just to find out if I'm allowed to buy and use their product in this way.
Other links tell you to read the EULA, but don't link the EULA itself, and as I don't have access to any SBS 2011 CALs (prior to buying them..!!!) then I don't have a copy of the EULA either. So a link to that would also be helpful if anybody can find it?
Thanks in advance,
(A slightly frustrated) Mike
P.S. Sorry couldn't post links as not a verified account, so you'll need to copy/paste/fix them up yourselves.
