I have read the other discussions here, but wanted a specific question(s) answered by you kind folks.
Have a client that is on SBS 2003, and we want to get them on new hardware and OS. They use Google Apps for email, and no longer use Exchange 2003 on the SBS 2003, nor Sharepoint, SQL, etc. So really, they ONLY need the domain, DNS, DHCP and files moved to the new OS, probably Server 2012 or 2008 R2, both Standard. There are no more then 5 users at any give time.
Has anyone done this? Can anyone recommend steps to take and be sure of (yes, Acronis images aplenty are done)? or should we just create a new domain with the new server and manually move files and accounts over?
