Hi everyone,
Until last Friday all my network goes quite well, some minor issue, but nothing more. In the evening, after the main office has been closed I've lunched the installation of Service Pack 1 on the main server, SBS 2011 std. After that, server's reboot normally.
On next Monday people from main office tell me that the email are out of work, so I've tried to connect to the server to check, but the RDP returned only black with the mouse pointer. After some other tries I've decided to force the reboot the server.... the drama's started...
After that reboot the server hang on "applying computer settings" and reach the "CTRL+ALT+CANC" only after a very very long time, but once in everything were unresponsive, so one more reboot. This time, just to test in safe mode, and all goes smoothly, no delay, no slow down at all. But restarting in normal mode once again stuck.
At that point I was quite convinced that something was wrong with SP1 and chosen to revert the server at 1 min before the upgrade using the backup method.
With my great surprise the restore was worst than before! The problem still exist more it was like a bomb was exploded in the server cause some settings are right other was revert to default (like users folders redir) but the real drama is that everything about users and computer about Active Directory seems to be missing!!! The snap-in won't start, the SBS Console report that can not query the server and report that no users or computer are in the domain!!
I really don't know how proceed....
