On our SBS2008 network, one of our XP clients (mine!) suffered a corrupted profile a couple of weeks back. Since then I have been working with the new profile that was generated automatically by the client PC. The client works fine on the network
for emails, connecting to public folders, connecting to network shares, etc, but I cannot logon to it externally using Remote Web Workplace, and other client PCs in the same domain cannot connect to the rogue client PC using Remote Desktop Connection.
When I check the status of the client PC on the server, I get the "Online - Unable to query the information for this computer" message. The client PC is correctly listed in AD/MyBusiness/Computers/SBSComputers (and dsquery computers), but I notice
that the server is not listed in either SBS Computers or SBSServers (does this matter?). The status of all other client PCs is "online". DHCP and DNS appear clean and correct, except that the client cannot be pinged on the IP address given in the
list of DHCP address leases. 'arp' gives the correct MAC on that IP address. 'net view' includes the client in its list, but 'net view\\client' gives a System Error 53 - network path not found' error. I'm over my gumboots, help please!
