I've read the other articles but can't seem to find something that matches my problem and how to fix it.
We have an employee which is restricted to using a certain ISP provider and they block the ports used by NetBios so she can't connect to the network drive like everyone else in the company can with the public IP address. So the ISP suggested we use a VPN to connect to get around this.
We use Softlayer to host the server and they offer an SSL VPN and a PPTP VPN connection. I've connected using both and get the same issue. Once we connect via either VPN, I can ping our server with the private IP address, but cannot map a network drive on it.
We've had an IT guy come out and he's baffled as well so I'm looking to this community for help. It is imperative that she has access to our shared drive from her location but we cannot get it to connect and its been 2 months now. She has to remote desktop in to get the files and then e-mail them to herself so she can use them on her local computer and its too much of a hassle. Please let me know what information anyone may need to assist us.
When trying to map the drive, this is the error we get:
Error Code: 0x80070035
The Network path was not found
It only occurs when connected to this ISP, because I hooked it up to a Verizon MiFi connection and it worked fine so I'm not sure what the problem is and why even when tunneling through a VPN I still cannot get it to work.
Thank you!!!
