I realize that there are other threads on this - I have read them performed innumerable tasks disconnected/reconnected services tried joining with a brand new win 7 machine nothing has worked. I am ready to scrap all of this and call it a loss/lesson learned. When I try http://connect my client has successfully loaded the complete page once. By that I mean the Welcome to SBS 2011 Server page with all the graphics and link to start process. Upon clicking link process appears to begin, then churns for 5 minutes and fails. I have turned off firewalls, checked DNS, pinged, altered configurations adjusted network settings, followed every Tech Net article, blog or other seemingly useful instruction/direction in order to get this to work. I have spent untold hours attempting to resolve this and it is threatening to cost me a client(i.e. money), not to mention sleep and peace of mind. I am not unable to follow direction - yet I feel that whatever directions I have been given have all failed. Any suggestions - short of blowing up everything and starting over(too much time and energy invested).
