Hi. We have SBS 2011 Std running for about 7 months. Recently installed security patch KB2753842. AFter install, Backup Exec 2012 would not longer start. Speciffic error was that the BE management service would not start. Event logs showed TCP Error 10013 - attempt to access socket (50104) was forbidden by access permissions.
We are not running Windows firewall. We are running Symantec Endpoint Protection and that product is not blocking this port. Worked with Symantec tech support and they said everything looks good from a configuration standpoint.
Final step was to remove kb2753842. I did that and once again Backup Exec starts and runs normally. I'm not sure how to report this to Microsoft so I thought a post here might help someone else.
