Hi all,
I am planning on install 2x HP ML110 SBS 2011 Standards for a customer soon. Normally id configure these with seperate external domains and use only 1 server and have the other remote staff connect via vpn etc. My customer has elected to go with 2 servers as 1 sites has unreliable internet and also it allows the business to be seperated later for sale.
Site A
Site B
1x External Domain: mycompany.com.au (example)
They currently are using the domain via a webhost and pop3 accounts. I will adjust DNS settings as required and point to Site A which has a good solid internet connection.
Would we be best setting up 2 seperate internal domains but only setting up MS Excahnge at Site A? Then have Site B staff connect to exchange remotely only. If Site B internet goes down their domain will still be intact while emails will not be received as is normal with internet outage.
My other thoughts are, is it possible to sync the domain controllers so that site A is the main controller and all users are based there until an outage occurs at site B in which case they could continue logging in and working like normal.
Whats the best method here?
If remote connection to exchange for site B is best, what connection method?
Thankyou for your time
