Updates to Non-existant Computer

I've been working on/using Windows Server since 1991 (when was beta for
Windows NT). Last year I started implementing SBS 2011 and, at first, I
hated it because it was so fascist - You Vill Do As we Say Or Else! But,
with
familiarity comes grudging respect. It hurts to say it, but I like SBS 2011.
However, it's a real PITA to overcome some of its idiosyncrasies.

Here's one - I deleted a computer from an SBS domain - it doesn't exist
anywhere in "Active Directory Users and Computers". But, SBS is still trying
to apply updates to it. I've got 17 Updates In Progress for which the update
has been downloaded but not installed. This means my Summary and Detailed
Network reports always have Updates flagged and I have to go check to may
sure some other update is not a problem. This is a waste of my time.

Does anyone know how I can get SBS to stop trying to apply updates to a
computer that doesn't exist?
